Day seven: Exodus 7

In this chapter, we read that God hardened Pharaoh’s heart making him refuse Aaron and Moses request that God commanded as well as God increasing His signs and wonders in Egypt. To which God would lay his hand on Egypt bringing out the Israelites through his mighty acts of judgement.

God knew that Pharaoh was going to ask Aaron and Moses for a miracle to prove their power. He told Aaron to throw his walking stick to the ground and it would become a snake in front of Pharaoh, and it did. God then told Moses and Aaron to go to the River Nile in the morning and for Aaron to use his walking stick again by holding it up over the river. When he did this, all the water in the land turned to blood. Even the water stored in jars throughout the land turned to blood for 7 days; because of this all the fish died. This also happened before Pharaoh’s eyes.

In order for the walking stick to turn into a snake and for the water to turn into blood both Aaron and Moses needed to fully have faith that God would equip them with the power to do so. Take comfort this week, that, in life that God will never ask us to do stuff that we are unable to do, but instead He will give us the strength and courage we need.

Come and see what God has done.

Question for today: After seeing how God equipped Moses and Aaron with what they required on each occasion, how will this alter how you live?
