Day twenty-four: Exodus 24
Have you ever had to come to an agreement with someone because you couldn’t see eye to eye?
In this chapter is where the covenant is confirmed with Moses being the one who was delivering the orders that God between God and the Israelites.
When I first read that “Moses took the blood, sprinkled it on the people” I thought that it was quite gross and that I wouldn’t really want to have blood sprinkled on me. But for the covenant to be sealed to the people of Israel this act had to be completed allowing the nation to “receive” the blood of the covenant.
The blood from the covenant is the foundation for us to grow and become more mature in our faith with God. It is so important for us to be thankful for the covenant because we are able to develop and go deeper in our relationship with God. Let’s take some time to praise God for His covenant.
We are saved from our sins by God’s covenant; Jesus died so that we can be able to have eternal life with our father in heaven. Isn’t it amazing that we get to be freed from our sins by asking for forgiveness from God because Jesus shed His blood for all of us.
Let us be reminded that Jesus died for us because He loves us and wants us to have eternal life with Him in heaven. I know that for me I can get caught up with work, friends, family and netflix causing me to not really think about the covenant and what it means for all of us and this might also happen to you. So, today rejoice from this and spread joy to others about God’s covenant!
Come and see what God has done.
Question for today: How often do you think about God’s covenant?
