“Hearing the voice of children and young people”
How are you doing? How are you engaging with church right now? Where do you find community? Is there something else you would love to see the church doing? How are you engaging with your local community? How are you engaging in mission and caring for others outside of church?
These are some of the questions we have been asking ourselves in recent times and are some of the questions we would love to ask our children and young people.
On the evening of Monday 25th January the Ambassadors will be facilitating a children’s and young people’s forum on zoom. This is an opportunity for the voice of children and young people to be heard in order to shape what we do and how we move forward as the people of God. The format of the evening will gather children aged 8 to 11 for 30 minutes at 6.30pm on zoom. Parents do not have to take part but should be in the same room.
Young people aged 12 – 18 will then gather on zoom from 7.30pm – 8.30pm. (Leaders are not required to be present)
There will be some time spent together and then some time in b
reakout rooms for each district to allow further in-depth conversation about your local district. The time will be facilitated by the Ambassadors, supported by IMYC staff.
We would love to have 30 children and 30 young people – 10 from each district.
So what we are asking of you:
- Do you have some children or young people who would like to take part?
- Do you have children and young people who would be happy to share their thoughts with us?
- Could you invite and encourage some of your children and young people to take part?
- Then register any children or young people who are willing to take part by Friday 22nd January.
If you have some individuals who are willing to be part of the forum, after having spoken to them and they have agreed, please email email@example.com to sign them up.
