‘One of the underpinning principles of Safeguarding within the Methodist Church in Ireland is that in everything we do, those who attend our activities should: be safe; be heard & have fun.
I have the enormous privilege of travelling around the connexion delivering safeguarding training. I get to meet leaders and hear stories. I get to communicate something of God’s heart for the people he has placed in our care. I love the Methodist Church in Ireland. I love that we are committed to each other and to the gospel. I love that prayer is at the heart of everything good about the church. I love that we were the first denomination to introduce Safeguarding, before even the statutory sector. We have a biblical imperative to safeguard those in our care. We want to make sure that we do the best we possibly can for those that God has brought across our paths.’
